Validio × Omni: Bringing data quality and observability to AI and BI

For many data-driven organizations, the final step of the data journey - decisions based on data - is what ultimately dictates the quality of the data. And it’s also the step that can be the most fragile. By the time data reaches business users, whether they’re asking a natural language question or viewing a dashboard, it’s been transformed, aggregated, and visualized. They expect the answers to be accurate. But without assuring the quality of the underlying data, answers are hard to trust.

That’s why we built the Validio x Omni integration. It connects your data assets in Omni’s business intelligence & embedded analytics platform directly to Validio, to make sure users get fast AI answers and beautiful dashboards that are easy to understand and trustworthy. The Validio x Omni integration enables data teams to bring their canonical sources of truth – metrics – into the same data quality and lineage ecosystem that powers their pipelines, bridging the final gap between data and better decision-making.

Why this integration matters

What the integration enables

By connecting Omni and Validio, Validio automatically ingests metadata about Omni dashboards and charts and displays this in the Validio data catalog and lineage. In addition, with Validio you can access data quality and lineage information directly in Omni via the Validio browser extension.

This means you can now:

• Discover and explore BI assets directly within the Validio catalog, alongside data tables, streams, and metrics.
• Trace lineage whether looking at a dashboard or using AI, from the UI, to the underlying tables in the Omni workbook, all the way back to the data sources in your data platform.
• Understand impact when upstream data issues occur and see exactly which dashboards or metrics are affected.
• Get a direct quality check in your Omni environment using the Validio Browser Extension, which links dashboards in Omni back to their corresponding entries in Validio.

By extending Validio’s data quality monitoring to where users interact with data in Omni, teams across the business gain a unified view of how data quality affects both pipelines and business outcomes.

How to get started

Connecting Omni to Validio takes just a few minutes. To integrate Omni with Validio you first need to:

1. In Omni: Create an API key - for authorization, you can either use an Organization Key or a Personal Token. Refer to the Omni documentation for more info.
2. In Validio: Add an Omni credential - navigate to Credentials and fill in the required fields. Refer to the Validio documentation for details.
3. Test and create the credential. Validio will automatically begin fetching dashboards and charts from your Omni instance.
